Dering Hall Trade Program – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Who can join your trade program?
We welcome all active design industry professionals, especially interior designers, architects, builders, and landscape architects, to join our trade program. Brands, showrooms, and manufacturers are not eligible, nor are non-home design professionals like those in floral design or fashion.
What benefits does your trade program offer?
Members of our trade program gain access to net pricing on 20,000+ products on our site, enjoy priority responses to inquiries, and still have the freedom to negotiate directly with our sellers.
What trade discount do you offer?
We work with hundreds of brands and showrooms, all of which have individual policies regarding trade discounts. While the specific discount varies from seller to seller, most are in the range of 15-30%.
Can other members of my design firm join?
Absolutely! Once one team member has been approved for the trade program, all other members with firm email addresses will be pre-approved. Feel free to email a list to email@example.com and we’ll be happy to send invitations to the whole team.
Will I be automatically approved for your brands’ trade programs?
Some of our sellers may ask for additional information before welcoming you to their proprietary trade programs.
Does it cost anything to join?
No! The program is and always will be free.
Can I join if I am not in the United States?
Of course! As long as you are active in the home design industry, you are welcome to join. While they all have individual policies, most of our sellers are able to ship internationally or work with a domestic freight forwarder.
I don’t have a website. Can I still join?
Yes! If you don’t have a website, we may ask for trade references so we can confirm that you are an active professional working within the home design industry.
What qualifications do you require?
We welcome all active design industry professionals, especially interior designers, architects, builders, and landscape architects, to join our trade program. We will confirm that you’re active in the industry by reviewing your resale certificate, website, and sometimes trade references.
Do you have a minimum annual purchasing requirement?
No! Dering Hall is all about discovering great design. We don’t get in the middle of your negotiations with our sellers, and we don’t require any minimum purchase for membership in our program.
How do I become a Featured Designer?
Our Featured Designers are Dering Hall members, who pay a fee to publish their work on our site and to have the opportunity to be included in our editorial and social media content. If you’re interested in joining, please read more here or reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org
Once I’m approved, can I upload my portfolio to your site?

Why wasn’t my application accepted?
If your application wasn’t accepted, it’s because we weren’t able to confirm that you were an active professional in the home design industry. Please feel free to reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org for further details or to provide supplementary information, such as a portfolio or trade references.
Can I request samples?
You can absolutely request samples on individual products. Just use the same process you would for making a purchasing inquiry. Because we feature products from hundreds of brands, we don’t have samples in stock in our office.
